Animal Costumes

I love giraffes and with Halloween coming up, it should come as no surprise that I’m going to put together this super duper post about finding the perfect giraffe halloween costume. As crafty as I’d like to think I am, these costumes are going to be of the pre-made variety, but you can use them to figure out how to make a giraffe costume using some giraffe print fabric, or just give in and be lazy like me and buy one of these giraffe costumes that’s already made for you.

Adult Giraffe Costume

Let’s start off with you adults.  There are a couple ways you can go here.  You can go all out with the full on giraffe costume for adults, or piece something together.  You’ve got a few choices if you want to go full-out.  There’s the expensive option, and the even more expensive option.  Let’s start with the deluxe model.

As you can see here, this doofus does look incredibly giraffe like.  Giraffes are pretty freakin’ tall, and this costume captures said freakin’ tallness with a tall and “realistic” giraffe headpiece.  This costume is sure to get you noticed in a crowd, that’s for sure.  It’s labeled as “one size fits most adults” so if you aren’t that far from an average size, this costume will probably fit you.

This is clearly the ultimate giraffe costume.  This ultimateness does come at a price though, and this costume will run you over a hundred dollars.  Right now, it’s about $130.  That’s the price you pay for super deluxe.

Too rich for your blood?  Well there’s an option that costs about half as much.  This costume doesn’t include that nifty giraffe headpiece, but it’s still a mighty fine costume.  To me, it actually looks like a big pair of hoodie footie giraffe pajamas which makes it looks super comfy and versatile.

While the other one is the most “realistic,”  this one definitely looks like the more comfortable option, and it also doesn’t have that added height that could have you bumping into door jams all night.

Cheap and Easy Giraffe Costume

If you want to achieve that giraffe look without all the overhead (bad pun!), there’s a cheap and easy way to do this.  You can simply use this set of giraffe ears and tail, and viola, you’re a cheap and easy giraffe.  Wait… that didn’t sound right… well, you know what I mean.

There’s no body suit to worry about getting into and out of, and you won’t have to worry about bumping your fake head on things.  This will only set you back 10 bucks and it looks cute too.

A couple of add-ons to this look that you might consider are some giraffe print pajama bottoms, or maybe the giraffe mask.  I love the giraffe pajama pants, and I would wear those around  the house pretty much any day of the year.

This giraffe mask, on the other hand, is a bit creepy looking if you ask me.  This might be perfect if you’re going for a creepy giraffe look, but it’s definitely not cute.  It’s certainly an inexpensive way to spice up your costume though.

Cute and Classy Giraffe Costume

Another version of the “cheap and easy” giraffe costume is my “cute and classy giraffe costume.”  This involves the same ears and tail set shown above, but would be combined with this adorable giraffe dress, and of course, heels for that extra giraffe height.  I’ve tried to find a pair of giraffe heels that match the colors of this dress, but the only ones I can find are black and white.  They’re cute, but would obviously clash here.

This one is probably my favorite because it allows you to display your love of giraffes while staying cute and classy, as opposed to some of those other costumes out there that are a bit… well… you know the type. Not-so-classy.  Slutty?  Maybe.  Anyway, this dress is only about 20 bucks right now, and combined with the ears and tail, you’ve got yourself the cutest 30 dollar costume on the block.

Giraffe Costume For Kids

Moving down in age range, we’re looking at kids giraffe costumes.  If you’re looking like a costume for a kid who’s just over toddler age you’ve got one that looks very similar to the deluxe costume above.  It’s got that great giraffe headpiece that gives that added giraffey height.

This kid’s costume is even more deluxe than the deluxe adult costume because it comes with cute little mittens and foot covers.  It’s sure to be a hit at their halloween party.

Toddler Giraffe Costume

If you’re looking for a toddler giraffe costume, look no forther than this adorable little costume.  It’s fitted for toddlers size 12-24 months, and it’s probably the cutest costume on this whole list.

I love the colors, they are spot on (another bad pun!), and the look is absolutely perfect.   It’s also pretty inexpensive at only around 20 bucks.  That’s a small price to pay for having the cutest kid on the block on Trick or Treat night.

Baby Giraffe Costume

For the smallest of the bunch, you’ll need a baby giraffe costume.  Now, high quality isn’t exactly of the utmost importance here, because it’s not like he knows the difference.

He’s also going to grow out of his little infant giraffe costume in about 7 seconds, so you don’t want to go too crazy where price is concerned.  That’s why it’s great that this little giraffe baby costume only costs around 25 bucks.  It’s cute and cheap, so you get the best of both worlds.

Giraffe Dog Costume

Of course Fido can’t be excluded from the festivities.  While I normally discourage the dressing up of your poor pooch, some exceptions can be made in the case of Halloween, and of course, for giraffes.  This costume is the perfect way to complete your menagerie if you happen to have everyone dressed up as various animals.  You should also note the irony of the shortest member of your family being dressed up as the tallest land animal.

All right, well there you have it.  A complete giraffe costume guide.  There should be something here for just about every person and every budget.  If you think of anything else I should add, or have any questions, just let me know.  If you have pics of you in your giraffe costume, just send them on in. We’d love to see them!
